2t institute,I could tell you what I've done to mine as well but I would have to name the products, thereby making me guilty of in your face adverts as well.I'll admit the brake scoop is pretty gay but on the other hand,95% or the young dirt bike riding population can't turn a suspension clicker-let alone make anything. :)

You can but you wouldn't get published in a magazine. Simple fact is the article tells nothing new or in depth just a long list of product placements. I don't buy the magazine but when I have looked through it looks to be 75% adverts.

Maybe I should be  ;D I look at it more of what he did to personalize his own steed.I might have agreed with you had it not been for that gay brake scoop thingy. That's so useless it has to be personal thing...maybe.... :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">

Oh I don't know I think that brake scoop thingy would really be good for catch every spare chunk of mud, rocks, sand, gravel and jamming the shit all up in your caliper. And it makes a good little holder for heat too. Ought to get your brake fluid boiling. Just my opinion.  :P :P

http://www.bauermedia.com.hk/australasian_dirt_bike.htm

Circulation 22,000? I think they need more advertising. ;)

I don't read that one much either.
www.vmxmag.com.au is by far the best dirt bike magazine you will ever lay your eyes on, and it's circulation is probably even less, but that's because it has lots of words in a row that form a thing called a sentence, something you guys in the Americas, can't quite grasp the concept of. :P
www.transmoto.com.au is the best of the modern mags.

I like old stuff but a vintage mag catering to a bunch of old buggers from butt-fruck nowhere Australia is likely not the definitive authority on the off road motorcycle world.I followed the link but do find there are far too many pictorials for my liking. :D
As I look over my shoulder at my bookshelf I see a few interesting titles-Captain Scott,War and Peace,The Brothers Karamazov(I find Russian novels a bit dry-maybe it's the translation)Chesapeake(Michener-any of his are fantastic)When the Chestnut was in Flower(Chestnut Canoe history)The Invasion of Canada(Pierre Berton-Canadian History)and the Qur'an to name a few
Captain Scott did have few pics of his ill fated expedition though. If a Vintage off road bike mag from Oz is your benchmark for literary excellence Evo then well, good for you.Just so you know though, there are far better things out there read by others-even in the illiterate "Americas"   ;)

Can you post that pic racerx,i forget which it was,I guess my mind is slipping :(

I think evo's point still holds because all of those texts were published long before "idiocracy" took hold. Great movie

OK I'll consider it a draw, You look at Jody weisels pictures in MXA, and I'll read all Rick "Super Hunky" Seimens articles in VMX.  :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">

Oh ok,that one.Well,he wouldn't be the first one to try-lol.Pics don't impress me much I guess. :D
I'm not sure I'd be all that enthused about reading something from some guy who calls himself "Super Hunky Semen" to each his own I suppose  :o  :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" class="smiley">  ;) .Fwiw,I've read some some good stuff of his,and a lot of idiocy. It never ceases to amaze me some see him as "the dirt bike authority" for reasons unbeknownst to me.
I wouldn't argue that text has gotten less and less as years go by.I wouldn't put it as a geographical thing but more catering to the modern day short attention span generation. That's how everything has gone these days.Modern day,the young skim stuff and move on to the next item or bit of info.I can flip back 20 yrs through bike mags and see the difference.
Advertising is a separate thing. It's  a necessary though hated evil but the ads will soon stop-somewhat at least as printed media dies.
Fwiw, printed books are going away also. It's just as well I'll likely be worm bait in a few years as I likely won't enjoy what we've become anyway. :(
