I need stronger brakes
« Reply #15 on: March 07, 2012, 12:13:29 AM »
Luckily, I am only losing about $60 for the fork seals (I can not replace them myself). I made friends with the local bike shop mechanic, he is helping me out and doing them away from work. As for the brakes and rotors, they were not soaked, I will ask if he thinks they are still salvageable. Thanks for all your help guys :)

I  bent the front rotor numerous times on my YZ and Rm,s you bend them back, they get weak and get bent easier after straightening them. A stock size rotor is strong enough, use honda pads they have the strongest braking power,a steel braded line helps on YZ,s also. Oversized rotors can get bent in ruts and from other bikes much easier. It,s a good idea to have a spare front rotor, when going racing. I bleed the brakes often, using the highest heat brake fluid.
