Having trouble getting my engine out...
« on: January 12, 2012, 05:38:22 AM »
I am well into my newest project, and on my yz250, I can't get the engine out. I have two mounting bolts out from the bottom and front part of the frame and engine, and I have the swing arm mounting bolt out as well. I have the brackets on the top of the engine out as well as all the radiator tubes and wires. I can't find any other things holding it in, anyone know?
Mixin' gas and kickin' ass, Burnin' oil and smellin' royal. Two stroke until I die (which hopefully isn't soon)   If your not mixing gas, your not kicking ass.

next time you can always try a rubber mallet or a wood piece to try to move the engine up, down or sideways.

post some pics of your rebuild!

I started a tread in the photos and vids section. I will be posting up the before pics tonight... but be warned, everything is dirty.  :P   And, when I couldn't get it out, I just rocked it side to side a few times and then it loosened up nicely. It must have been all the dirt and grime  :-X

I often use a piece of 1" by 4" wood about two feet long as a pry bar to loosen engines.
