My local track is on the edge of an indian reservation and has been there since the 1970's... Housing slowly crept down the hill towards it over the years and residents have constantly petitioned the neighborhood to get the track shut down. It has remained despite the pressure, probably because of the politics involved with a sovereign nation arrangement most of these tribes have over their land. The residents moved there knowing full well there was a MX track that had been in operation LONG before any homes were built though.
The houses are close, and last Sunday when the first couple four strokes started ripping out onto the track in the am to break the silence, I began thinking of how much quieter it must've been before when it was only 2-strokes. The houses are close, and I could only imagine what it’d be like waking up to a bunch of booming thumpers versus the buzzy bees 2-stroke noises they used to hear.
