For Sale / Parting out 1985 CR250
« on: January 18, 2013, 01:44:21 PM »
I am parting out a complete 1985 CR250.
The water pump cover is missing.
I have not looked at the clutch cover in awhile so I don't remember how good it is.

The rest of the bike is in fairly good shape. It is already completely torn down including the motor.

Please text or call if you are interested in any of the parts.

I will accept paypal, and money orders.

Absolutely not photoshop. I will take any pic you like to show you. The motor went out in the mail today but I still have the other two loose covers.

Normally shop are not set up for rebuilding cranks.
The best place to get it rebuilt is crank works crankworks.com

I dont think they will install it though.

You will need the follwoing to do it correctly.

Rebuilt crank
main bearings / seals
Complete gasket kit
Top end kit (piston, rings, wrist pin, circlips)

If I were close to you I could help you with removal and installation.

I may have a clutch hub or complete clutch. Ill have to check tomorrow.

Well, its a long process.
First remove ALL bearings and shift drum. The have them soda blasted unless you can do it yourself.

After they are blasted they need to be cleaned real good.
Then I use scotch brite pads. In the tighter areas I will use a dremel with a very fine wire wheel.

It takes a awhile but it well worth it.

For those of you that know these bikes, should know that Mitch had most of the Ti parts and some of the "works" parts removed before bikes got sold.

I do have the following in Ti that was left on the bikes.

Upper & lower shock bolts
fork guard bolts
triple clamp bolts
rear axles
Bar mount bolts
a few case bolts
 caliper pins
and few other pieces

Dogger is right on the susp. the 99-01 bikes were fitted with kit susp.
In 02 they got "works" forks.

A lot of these bike were not the same. Some ran the flo green powder coated frame and some did not.
All of mine have the flo frame except for Shorts bike.

I tried to post pics but it wont let me. It says file folder is full or file is too large.

Shorts 01 bike is the only one that is complete and running. The others are torn down for restoration.
