General Two Stroke Talk / KTM 250sx vs. 350

While reading MXAs KTM 350 bike test i noticed something very interesting.  The ktm 350 weighs 236 lbs and produces 47 hp on the dyno.  While the 250sx weighs 218 lbs and produces 50 hp.  Now im no rocket scientist but im pretty sure that most race teams want to race the lightest and most powerful bikes possible.  So why does KTM keep putting riders on the ktm 350 when they have a 250 two stroke that is more powerful and a heck of a lot lighter than its four stroke brother.  This goes to show just how messed up our sport is right now in my opinion.

Unfortunately TC wont be riding the two stroke this week due to the fact that he wont be racing the last round at all.  It is sad to say that his mom died of an illness leaving the newly crowned champ to sit out this weekend. :(   Godspeed to TCs mother.

This guy knows how to show those guys whats up.  I find it funny that a lot of the A class riders have a 250f for the 250A class and a 450 for the 450A class but here is this guy using one bike to race both and he is winning, not to mention he is on so called old technology and down 200cc in the 450A class. :P

He was riding the 450 for most of the video then something broke on that super reliable four stroke so he pulled out his trusty yz250.

He is on the pre entry list for Unadilla listed as riding a 450 but like always im sure it is a typo and he is going to ride his yz250.  Good luck to him and I hope he makes us two stroke fanatics proud. :D

When the gate was about to drop i heard the amazing sound of a two stroke along with a white puff of smoke coming out of a bike sorrounded by four bangers.  Mike was running 26ish before he went off the track unfortunately.  Lets hope he is able to make it out for the 2nd moto to do some damage on those japanese companys and there beloved four strokes.

I could count the number of four strokes i saw in this video with one hand but if i tried to count the two strokes my brain might blow up.

The number of two-stroke manufacturers expands way beyond the Japanese Big Four—as the TM 125MX proves.
 
 "According to the FIM, the Italian federation banned kids from riding four-strokes in competition until after their 15th birthday. FIM head guru Wolfgang Srb welcomed the Italian move and said, "This is great news. We must keep down the cost at entry level to our sport and many fathers can work on a two-stroke but not on a four-stroke. We at the FIM set a signal when we restricted the World Junior Championship to two-strokes, and the UEM have introduced the wonderful 125 series. I am sure other federations will soon follow Italy's lead." France already has a rule that restricts teenagers in National competition to bikes of 125cc or less until their 16th birthday."
