My RMX did a similar thing - was getting spark, but would not fire and every third or fourth kick would backfire.

Turns out it broke the woodruff key that locates the flywheel on the crank so the timing was massively off.

So, just something else to check beyond carby stuff potentially trashed by ethanol/fouled plug.

Been there twice, epic event. Unsanctioned pitbike races til 2 in the AM, unit model search, metal cover band party saturday night, and the hagover ride day sunday at MX338.

there is an open 2 stroke race, the 'keeping it real' class. winner takes home a new FMF exhaust and more importantly a trophy that state they 'kept it the realest'

Highlight of my MXing career was being on the gate with robbie marshall and john dowd in 2011 for that race.
