Heard that the other day.
VW/Audi are on a mission to be number 1.
Don't think it will effect bike design.
Probably just capital.
If you don't fall off you are not going hard enough

audi owns bentley, bugatti and lamborghini, and each brand still has theyr unique design, and believe me, each of these brands had a huge improvement in quality and reliability.

If Audi/VW can improve the quality of the acquired brands,it just goes to show how exceptionally poor the quality of those brands was in the first place  :o

Modern Ducatis have no problem with quality,it's just that VW's deep pockets will supply the financial stability that Ducati will need to refocus the company and up production.Ferdinand Piech almost bought Ducati in 1985 and I guess this time around he did'nt pass up on the opportunity.

I despise Volkswagon AKA the peoples car. People who own them are no better than the people that buy toyota products.

We live in a global economy and most of the excellent Toyota vehicles purchased here in North America are produced in N.A..Ford is in the process of building a massive new plant in China. The Japanese love Harley Davidsons.Trade is a two way street and we all benefit from open borders.

Volkswagen was a major contributor to the rebuilding of the post WW11 German economy and that same economy is helping stabilize the Eurozone after the devastating effects of the most recent global recession. This recession originated in the U.S..We all have to stick together.

I once worked for a company that was involved in the military spectrum - trust me,nobody is innocent.

Which brings me back to the topic, why would an automobile manufacturer buy a manufacturer of high end boutique motorcycles? ::)

Toyota makes about the highest quality vehicles I see on a regular basis-volkwagen,one of the worst.I swore by VW and my last one had 350000 trouble free km,s.They crapped out after about 96 m.y.
As for Hitler,he's still alive and plotting a return-along with Nero and Genghis Khan. :D

my dad owns a nissan van drom 1989, it allready has 350.000kms (217.000miles) and till the moment, no issues at all, and has been driven hard everyday. it a genuine made in japan nissan, don't know if your toyota's in the states are made in japan or usa, but gotta say it's top quality for what i see.

i own 2 vw polo's g40 1.3 supercharged from 91 and 92, a well know pocket rocket that goes from 0-60 in 6seconds bone stock, genuine engine made in germany and chassi made in pamplona, spain, gotta say that the engine in this little beast is his highlight it's freakin strong for a 1.3l and 116hp stock engine that can easily reach 200hp with some small mods, the problem is spliting chassi legs, every polo g40 broke chassi lags to lack of resistance due to his weak design as the car was meant to use a 1.0 and 1.3 athmosferic engine.

besides that i have a fiat stilo sport 1.6l from 2003, and gotta say that in every inch you notice lack of quality, it has been a nice car till today, but the quality has been lost in the last decade, even vw's are not what the used to be, and they still be the best quality cars here in europe, not to mention mercedes-bens or bmw.

nowadays nissan is owned by renault, quality has decreased and i'd ratther say that maybe on motorcycle industry happend the same. quality and reliability are a thing unknown these days.

do you guys feel the same in the us? how are the GM cars today compared to 20/30 years ago?

I wish VW would bring the Polo to North America, the latest ones are very fast with hybrid beating fuel economy.

Hitler has(had?) a son in France, the result of a romance when he was a soldier and was stationed there.
Genghis Khan was a mean dude. :-X

they improve safety a lot in the last few years, but i dare say that 90's and early 00's, polo's were way faster but not that safe to drive, lots of people died racing them.

these were vw car tests performed till late 90's
