What Yamaha did with the four stroke is the reason I pick them as the first to break away. The made a lot of $ with the early jump on four strokes. Imagine this. When the timing is right they bring out an all new YZ250 that is on par with KTM and the others. And they make a deal with the other 2T brands to make them all legal for Nationals. Put just 5 top riders on legal 2 strokes. They would need to make at least 10 for each dealer.

You sir, are a clever man. I'd wager that all the big four know the day is coming when the four stroke market crashes. I'm sure they've all got designs for a completely new 2 stroke locked up in their vaults somewhere and are just waiting till they've milked the four stroke dry before releasing it and making even more bucket loads.

I think that when the 2 strokes come back to the market honda will fight it with everything they've got until they've utterly exhausted the market. Then they either have the choice of stopping their motocross bikes productions or producing two strokes

Don't give Yamaha too much credit. It was Husqvarna (Jacky Martins) who first won a GP on the revived 4$. However, credit where credit is due, Yamaha came out with a full on Factory Works bike, full of bits of Titanium, unobtanium, and other banned substances for Doug Henry to make a good showing of them. It should also be pointed out that though Husaberg was the first (modern) all four-stroke company, they are now the first (modern) all 2-stroke company.

Either way vintage the Richie family that owns Red Bud was asked to raise there ticket prices for this years national and they said no so this year will be the last national at Red Bud

  I hope that,s a rumor. There,s nothing on there website, about 12 being the last race, didn,t hear nothing about it either. Just a saturday ticket is 40.00 now, nobody wants to spend a ton of money, but it,s RedBud if the pitpass is 40 bucks people will pay it. RedBud  has the liveliest crown, they have the July 4th weekend locked in for years, the best weekend to have a race. Sorry for hijacking the thread Watson, I say show up and race. The window for being fast enough to race a national is a short one.

After Renner (?) went on about riding an oversize 125 at Daytona, Anyone else turning up on a 2t, Will have their engine inspected, just as He did when he next went to race.

Rules are rules, no matter how bloody bad they are. I'd say that anyone, who is caught now for OS engines, be they 125 based , or 250f based, or 250 2t based, will get royally reamed, as an example, by MX Sports / AMA. It would be a perfect opportunity, for them to be seen as actually doing something......................

Who rode the TSMX 250?  John's one?  I thought it was Watson77, but obviously, not.

To answer your question, cos no one else did, it was Mike Leavitt that rode the Project Two 50 bike.

hey just a thought for the 125 build. slap on a heavier flywheel weight. yes it will slow how fast the bike revs out but on a track that is notoriuosly slick and loamy at the same time, and fast. the bike would benefit from revving slowere so it can use the little amount of torque to the fullest advantage. I know many factory 250's from back in the day used this same trick but 125s im not sure.

i only mention it because i tested it once. i picked up a 144 with the flywheel already on it for trail riding and on fast sweepers and slippy turns it helped keep the rear end in line
