Well I took the plunge
« on: January 29, 2012, 08:37:35 AM »
Y'all might remember about a month ago I posted asking about some of the ins and outs of the two stroke world. Well a lot has happened since then and I thought y'all might like an interesting read. I got trade offers for every major 250 and a couple 125's for my kx250f and it became a matter of meeting up. Well after a few things fell through I was just settling for my kxf and was riding at a local track when I met a guy with an 04 kx250 and a 2011 kx450f. I had a small conversation with him then resumed my day. About 30-45 min later and I shredded my rear tire. Got a flat and got on the gas real hard to clear a jump and noticed it felt really bad but was to late. Got back and found my rear tire in pieces. Thought my day was done and was about to pack up and the guy I talked to walked up to me and said why don't u ride my kx250. I was astonished, made sure he was serious then jumped on and had a blast. Well with a second wind I started after the original trade offer I had which was the exact same 04 kx250 as I was loaned. He was still waiting on the shock to be rebuilt but still seemed interested. In the mean time I got to ride an 09 yz250 an 99-01 cr250 and loved them but waited on the 04 kx. Well I got the call Friday. He was heading to the shop to pick up the shock and was ready to meet this weekend. I rode his bike today and he rode mine. We worked up a straight trade and I came home with a super low hour 04 kx250. Got a few pics and videos from today and will be posting them shortly. Remember this is my first day on the bike but still loving it.

It looks nice, good trade  ;D
Mixin' gas and kickin' ass, Burnin' oil and smellin' royal. Two stroke until I die (which hopefully isn't soon)   If your not mixing gas, your not kicking ass.

nice score!!!
If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.

wow you got a nice bike there!!
this proves right there that people are stupid about 4 strokes, they'll trade a pristine 2 stroke for a 4 stroke, that guy you traded with is an idiot
you did absolutely amazing in trading your bike for this one

and on a side note,i have never seen a tire do that before, i have seen a rotted tire fall apart but nothing like spinning the tread off like that, that's really weird
2007 cr125, all stock, except suspension work, Sunline Flex levers, and a crf250r front # plate and front fender

Good deal. ;D

On a side note , have a look at the left hand side of the airbox at the bottom.
The side of the airbox overlaps the bottom and your boots can rip a hole out of the side of the airbox. My mates 08' did that and after replacing the air box a bit of black duct tape around the bottom will stop it happening again.
Not sure how comon it is but airboxes are not cheap.
Happy riding.
If you don't fall off you are not going hard enough

Yeah it was an aging tire and just the perfect storm of bad things. I thought it felt funny but was just putting waiting on somebody and turned the corner, lined the step up up and got on the gas really hard to seat bounce it and right off felt wrong but was to late so I jumped it and then pulled off and saw the flat and the shredded tire. I do agree but he admitted he couldn't handle the two stroke and wanted a spare 4 stroke. He rides gncc stuff on a crf450r a wanted a spare in case his main bike failed. ;)

Tm r u talking about like where the spot between the back of the frame and the Tony of the leg of the subframe? I'll for sure look into it.
