I too used to think hand gaurds, who needs them... well I do :o  After seeing the indentation left in the tree from the wrap around hand guard, and my hands not getting a scratch...  to quote the Beetles... "I'm a believer"   :P  but to each his or her own.

Looking forward to seeing the final set-up of the bike, and the results from the season opening race.

Good Luck.

Finally made some progress... I've been busy riding, racing and fixing my other bike.

This is how she look's right now... Pretty sad. Anyway, we've still made some small progress, changed pretty much all the bearings from her ass, linkage, swingarm and shock. So that kind of "quiet work" has been done all the time. And the electricion can be made other way, there is no need for a rewound strator! Ignition box has one wire that creates just enough power to light those things up, without sacrificing anything.

This is what we got today from our dealer, not much but still progress. But I gotta tell you, that skid place was quite a disappointment lol! Look how tiny it is... But I guess it's still better than none. That bike has to be ready before 26.2, so lots of updates coming soon. (At least I hope so...)

And THIS has nothing to do with this project, but since I haven't been updating anything and I just want to give you guys a little extra and show you guys what does Enduro mean in wintertime Finland, I decided to throw this in here too.

That's me from yesterday, riding my old fooper, which makes actually a pretty good spoori-bike. Lol, I couldn't figure out any english word for spoori, but it's the snowrut thing we have to do here wintertime. Our every top WEC enduro rider does that, at least a little when they are here and not training abroad. It's great training for balance and riding in general. Even some of our top MX riders do that in some form. And there is specialists who don't ride anything else but that, think about that!

Looking good kembo!  8)
As for you eprovenzano,I'm a believer too-in not running them. They damage as many paws as they save-it's a trade off.I have one permanently bent finger because of them-and i always ran mine pointed down some too.If you leave them straight out, you'll tend to break both wrists if you flip over the bars-it's happened many times.I also had a tree branch jam down between my throttle side guard slamming the bar first into my leg, pinning the throttle, then trying to pitch the rest of me over the bars while maintaining  a grip on my leg.
On the other hand, they do save your hand from a direct tree hit and from locking on your front brake from a glancing blow from a tree and flipping you over the bars-done that too.It can go either way but I ride without. Here you go though  :)

Lights are a must guys, the bike has to fall under the road traffic law... And handguards I already have. Normal MX style protectors for me, I don't want my hands to be trapped in those US style things lol Pretty much nobody uses those around here in enduro/cross country.

My RM has to be 100% enduro ready for 26.2... So that's our deadline. Things are getting there, step by step!

If your RM has a power jet in the carb you can run the light off of that with a low amperage bulb.I did that on my '99.I wouldn't want to drive it a night but just to pass a regulation,it works fine.

Yeah that is exactly what we planned to do! And hahah, no hand breakers for me ford832, I'd rather get my finger broken with MX style hand protectors than my arse splitted in half after going over the bars with my hands elbow deep stuck in those bark busters!

Ford you forget, I'm old fat and slow...  :o  and damn proud of it...  :D I'm lucky to stay upright after bouncing off the trees...   Hell I'm estatic to be in one peice after a ride..   8)  Its all good, to each his / her own.

That is exactly what I was told one day and the reason I don't use them!  ::)
Mixin' gas and kickin' ass, Burnin' oil and smellin' royal. Two stroke until I die (which hopefully isn't soon)   If your not mixing gas, your not kicking ass.

That is a sad skid plate - doesn't even have any protective ears! I would suggest handguards - We have the Acerbis RAM Handguards on clearance, and there is a nice RM yellow color as well.

I just run a glide plate on mine just to protect the lower case and help me slide over logs and rocks-less weight is better imo though I can see the benefit of more protection. For me though,Ill take the trade off.

The bike is ready!

The lights work good, except the tail light needs a bit revving to be bright, but it's all good.

This is the view basically just to show the wires are out there and stuff. The power comes from the JET wire from carburator. Can't wait to race this thing tomorrow! Hope everything goes well, we blew a shock the first time we rode this, but it's fixed and should be good now...

There! Only flaw is that it's so small, that it's a pain in the ass to put 3 digit numbers on it... Gotta improve my ranking quick and move up in the classes so I can run 1-2 digit numbers only lol

Wow that came out nice. How does it work? Does it light up the whole trail, or is it more of a get home quick before it gets to dark kind of light?
