The August issue of Transworld Motocross contains a very enlightening article. They posed 48 questions to 48 Pro Motocross Racers with the assurance that their anonymity was guaranteed. What followed was an eye opening set of questions and answers.
To make it a bit more fun, after giving the results of each question in percentage format, they included a quote from one of the interview subjects.
A few of the questions that fans of this site would be interested in include;
Should 250cc two-strokes be allowed in the Lites Class?
Yes – 62%
No 38%
“Why not? It will make the die-hard two-stroke fans happy, and it will be more affordable for the privateers. I don’t think any of the top-level guys would race a two-stroke instead, though.”
Are four-strokes good or bad for the sport?
Good – 52%
Bad – 42%
No Opinion – 6%
“in this economy they are definitely bad. Who can afford to get into motocross when it costs nearly as much as the bike did to repair a blown engine?”

Being the second full week of September, I don’t know if the issue will still be on the newsstands. I’m impressed this mag would actually cover this topic. I’ve always thought of them as having a target audience of 12-30 year-olds interested in only what is the “latest and greatest”.
Yeah it is surprising they actually printed this article. Historically Transworld seems to be pretty anti-two stroke, but after a boat load of negative responses to their two-stroke dogging they seem to be lightening up on the smokers. Still not objective or favorable towards us, but they’re getting there.

As far as I understand the article was only in their magazine, not online.
There seems to be a bit of a resurgence or interest in two strokes, so any publication that leaves them out will end up hurting themselves in the long run.
Yeah just bring the two strokes back
