I’d be very interested to see how these new Kawasaki’s differ from the last ones imported into North America (steel frames?).Looks like the MX scene is going to get a little more interesting.

Talk about awesome! I’m almost ready to move to Europe just for the chance to see a full gate of 125s on a national level track. This season is going to be awesome! I wonder when we’ll start seeing new two strokes from the Japanese here in the States?

I just cant wait for that 1st 125 practice session in Italy, it will be a special moment for me without a doubt, finaly the 125′s are back !

Plus ‘and its a BIG plus’, I’ll be there mechanicing for Ryan Houghton. After nailing the BW class on an 85, he’s moving up to the 125′s and we’ve been going well this winter on the bigger bikes. Perhaps I should do a report for this site on the event from our perspective, inside photo’s ect ????

I was just told by a salesperson at one of the local motorcycle shops that Suzuki will not be importing any moto bikes into the US this year, that includes the four strokes. Not a promising sign!

That sounds super cool 1215mx! I’m jealous. I’d definitely be interested in reading some first hand race reports.

If I am correct in what I have been told Husqvarna sales are up significantly so it’s quite surprising that Suzuki would go to the drastic measure of not importing certain motorcycles.Imagine being a Suzuki dealer and not having any new product to sell (and keep the lights on!).

I wonder why Suzuki is allowed to race the 2010′s in AMA pro events with the homologation rule. Don’t the manufacturer’s need to sell 5000 units to be allowed to race? Suzuki should technically have to race the 2009 model if they won’t be importing any 2010s.

125mx.com – Of course we would love it. Please give us the “inside” story at the 125 races… anything you write, I will publish!!

MXLord327 – You know… you’ve kind of hit a sore spot with me…. lol… of course Suzuki will be given a pat on the back and told that it’s just fine for them to run the 2010 bikes…

It’s the way of the AMA and Big 4 domination of the sport… it’s fine for your “friends” but heaven forbid you show up on a Maico, TM, Gas Gas, Husqvarna and attempt to race the Nationals!! They’d laugh at you!!

With any luck, maybe they (AMA / MX Sports) will relax the homologation rules so that there can be some competition of European manufacturers…

By MXLord327 on March 8th, 2010 at 11:54 am

That was exactly my thought John!! If Suzuki can run their non-existant bikes, every other manufacturer should be able to get in on the party!! Someone should try it and if they get turned away, protest every factory rider on a Suzuki for being on an illegal bike.

By bleake637 on March 8th, 2010 at 1:12 pm

you know I hadn’t thought of homologation but you guys are totally right. You gotta love the AMA. I wish I had a pro license so I could show up on a TM and see how fast I get disqualified. If I remember right, at the end of the nationals a few years ago a privateer purchased the next year’s YZ450F and raced a national but then got dq’d because the bike wasn’t homologated, even though they were for sale at dealers. Yamaha just hadn’t done the paper work yet. I wonder what kind of back room deal Suzuki and the AMA have to get around that. I guess if you’re one of the big 4 factories you don’t have to follow the rules. I’m writing a letter…
