Thank you very much ferrahount, its always nice to get some praise or even just recognition for believing in, and then starting the 125cc series over here, it took me nearly 2 years of hard work, but at the very first round at Matchams park, the smile on my face said it all. Since then the series just grew and grew, until it was a whole event dedicated to 2sts. Since then there's been many more clubs and federation take a look and indeed, start their own series as we seem to have more and more riders turning up on a smoker.

And it's with thanks to John for creating this website that any 2st news is global within hours, well done mate.

As I said before, I'd like to live (or to move to) England.
Here I guess we need to thank and give a lot of credit to the guys that create and made the 125 2 stroke british championship were the revolution started in England (I don't know your names so excuse me) and also to John, who made this great site wich allow this great comunity to join around their passion.
About those new championships I think they are good news, I'd like that the FIM support them and the local federations add them to their agenda.
Some may want that MX2 and MX1 change to displacement parity rules, but I think we shall see the good side of this, we had a national category (local sanctioning body supported) 2 stroke motocross championship. I remember some years ago when enduro championships were 125 2S, 250 2S, 250 4S, 400 4S and open (or 500) and I thought that was good.
Now we have to support this and try to do something to get our two strokes racing in their own, or with few advantage (better none) to the thumpers, championship.
I can see some good times coming.

Congratulations to all the British 2 stroke fans! This is great news for you guys/gals!!!

Chris 2T, I like your ideas about updating the displacement for two strokes, but still allowing an advantage for the fours. While I would still rather see even displacement rules I just don't see the powers-to-be doing that. Perhaps your idea is something even the AMA can embrace. Dubious, but possible!

Thanks for spreading the good new, John!!! I think John deserves a big virutal round of applause, everybody!!!

to clarify my above comments, i'm willing to give the 4 strokes only a ridiculous displacement handicap rather than an absolutely absurd one, in the name of goodwill ;-)

The word is Parity. If the 250 2T's have no chance against the 450's, bring them up, or bring down the 4t's. Likewise with the 250f's:

150 2t's vs 250 4t's OR 125 2t's vs 200 4T's
250 2t's vs 400 4t's OR 300 2t's vs 450 4t's

What's so very hard about that? Plus it adds a measure of excitement, so you don;t just have racer against racer and machine against machine, but also different lines of I.C.E thought competing

Yea I agree, in an ideal world that would happen in every country and every federation. I dont know of any other place that happens and I think the MCF have done it right for us 2st fans, but on the flip side I do know a few riders that have not entered the MCF because of that rule as their on 250f's, so who's right. Plain and simple, you just cant please everyone !

125MX - JOB DONE?

Partly and iits a good step forward - but the ACU still have to allow the MX1's to be open class and the MX2 to allow both 250 2 strokes and 250 4 strokes so they are on an equal playing field as the MCF does in its pro races.

As far as I know there are no plans for them to do this

Hold on a bit, there not excluding 2st from any mx1 or 2 races, that will carry on as normal, this is a whole new series 'just' for 2st's and will not 'carry' the mx1 or 2 badge, but 125 and 250 National titles again.

I must say, the ACU actauly started the series that is now the MCF 2st series, when I started the then 'DEP' series it was with help from the ACU, the MCF was not even formed then. A couple of years later when things were growing out of control I neded help running the series as I did everything myself, the MCF was formed and they inherited the series and I worked with them for a while.

I'm not biased to any federation, I'm just so happy that the UK now has plenty of oppotunities for its growing army of 2st racers to go have fun, and we as riders should enter as many as we can to prove that if a federation supplys a 2st race we will come and fill those gates. I can now sit back and enjoy watching some great 2st action

It makes total sense that they would move to outlaw the 2 strokes in MX1 and MX2. What does the AMA and the ACU have in common? They are both controlled by the manufacturers. The manufacturers see that there's a threat to sales of their handicapped cash cows and will act accordingly.
