It's not against the rules to ride a 250 2 stroke in a National. The rules are just slanted so bad against them that they aren't competitive. I'm thinking that's what the OP was getting at. It's comparable to the rules of Flat Track racing where the rules are (were?) so slanted towards Harley Davidson that nothing else is even competitive so they rarely even showed up. Much like 2 strokes at a national.

Let me get this straight in the AMA Pro Nationals its against the rules to even ride a 250 2 stroke against a 450 4 stroke? I thought that was the current unfair displacment rule?

Congratulations to Cedric and to all fans of 2 strokes the world over! Too bad the AMA and the Big 4 are so afraid of even competition that they have to keep the rules so tilted in favor of the four strokes that two strokes are not even allowed to compete at the national level. I do not see how the manufacturers could ignore things like this. I would love to hear how the factories are rationalizing their stance. What is up with the AMA? Caving in to the pressure from the factories instead of standing up for the people who make their jobs possible...you and I!
