It looks like the 150sx is the unanimous winner here looking at the facts. Lower weight, higher HP, similar Torque, lower maintenance $, quieter and even the bottom line... FASTER LAP TIMES.

Grant said he ‘reckons’ he would get more tired on the 150 and Matt was ‘worried’ he would not be able to pull good starts on it? What the…? Did they write these before they saw their lap times? Seems Grant has his physics backwards. The 150 being much lighter AND having more HP and the same torque as a 250F would give the 150 the advantage on starts and help stamina. At an average of TWO seconds per lap faster times on the 150, I see no disadvantages except in perception by a rider who was FASTER on it. Alisha may not have experience on a smoker and may be why she did not do well…? plus she’s a girl! Lol. Imagine how much more difference there would be between lap times if these test riders spent some time getting used to the 150 and did not ride 4 strokes every day to boot. I think Grant is looking at the 150 through 4 stroke goggles!

The difference in maintenance is that anyone with four common tools can change a top end on a 150 in their own garage. No need to add labor costs onto that bill, so the revised price can now be $140. Not just anyone can do a top on a 250F. Also, how many times do you rebuild a 250F and not have to replace more than just the piston? I do not believe that a 250F being ridden on the rev limiter only to fail at keeping up with that cat like 150 requires fewer rebuilds, but I could be wrong.

The 150 is on my ‘to buy’ list for sure! It’s already fun to rip on a 125. The 150 would be having my cake and eating it too!

The 150SX is MY way of the future.

So - Ben Foster says "Don’t get me wrong, four-strokes are great and undoubtedly the way of the future"

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about, why are 4 strokes the way of the future exactly? About time they got some dirt bike journo's who know what they are talking about, who gave this guy a gig?!

That little 2 stroke has 100cc LESS than the 4 stroke and still had the majority of better lap times than the 250 4 stroke.

Looks to me like its 2 strokes that are the way of the future Ben
