This comparison is junk. If you are a real pilot you prefer the TM. It is a ready-to-racy bike just out of the box and you don't need thousands of accessories to make it perform. The suspensions are for experts, not for children who are learning, you need to ride it as if you're riding a bull!

PS KTM and japanese bike suck

Great article again 2stmx, keep up the good work, what a fantastic idea to get each rider to thrash each others bike, thats something every test should have from now on. I doubt the Yamaha could match the TM in stock form, as this shootout shows just how much the other bikes have had to do, to be able to beat what looks to be a stock TM. Cant wait for the stock shootout.

Cool article.

Regarding if the yz could match the tm....odds are yes.
It's an incrediblle stock bike...and MOST modifications turn it from good overall power to razor thin top end...so odds are the mods done weren't to the point of extreme power!

We would of loved another bike to test, but we wanted to show what was on offer from the three main companies that have continued to produce and develope what we like racing, there's no point in having a KX ect as guys cant buy one ! Also there seems to be a buzz here that Husky will push their 125 now as the 125GP's are back and more importantly it has major backing.

What will surprise if you read through our shootout is how stock Jims Championship winning TM actualy is, the only thing we could see was a set of Renthal bars, so ofset the costs involved with the other bikes the TM puts up a good fight, we did fancy some trick parts for the TM but the UK importer said, this IS the bike that won the title and thats what your testing. Were now eager to run a stock shootout to see if any bike can match the TM out of the crate, as thats going to be a hard task ?
