The Motocross Files – Bob Hannah

If you spend any time watching Speed channel you’re probably familiar with this series produced by Todd Huffman. Each episode focuses on a pro motocross racer from the past. The only downside of the series? It’s limited to 22.5 minutes.

While this is certainly enough time to get a flavor of the racer and the time period they raced in, it’s not the whole story.

In the late 70's Bob Hannah was considered a Superhero.

In the late 70's Bob Hannah was considered a Superhero.

In this particular DVD, Bob Hannah is the featured racer and 22.5 minutes is not enough time. So the producers decided to release the DVD with an “expanded” 75+ minute “show”. This comes so much closer to telling the Bob Hannah story.

But in addition they also included the Raw interview segments with Bob, but both of his early mechanics Keith McCarty and Bill Buchka. Plus some out-takes and Bob’s Roast at the “One Chance to Win” Premiere.

If you are old enough to know Bob Hannah this is a video that should be a part of your collection. But for those that don’t know much about the history of the sport or would like to see how a true champion handles himself, this is a must have.

Bob Hannah is a straight talking no-nonsense person and there are lessons to be learned for many, just by listening to how he views the world. You may not agree with everything he has to say, but he will tell you his opinion and you decide.

This is a breath of fresh air when compared to the bland and lifeless interviews given by modern day racers. Bob is the real deal and does not pull any punches.

Product Description
In 1976 a virtually unknown teenager from the high desert of Southern California began the motocross racing season on his new Yamaha with a purpose and an attitude. He would end the season with his first of seven #1 plates and a nickname…The Hurricane. Bob Hurricane Hannah took the motocross world by storm in the 70 s and 80 s with his unique, no-holds- barred riding style on the track and his matter-of-fact opinions off the track. Competitors loathed him (as he loathed them back) but everyone respected what would become one of the sport s biggest personalities and most accomplished racers of all time.
