I am so glad I stumbled on this great web sight. I mentioned in a comment a few years back that fuel injecting a two stroke could be a viable answer to the excess unburnt hydro-carbons released in abondance by two strokes. I am just glad that this forum exists to get more people into trying to get two stokes back on the map. I can't wait to see a DI 300cc two stroke outperform a 450 four stroke, or maybe even a 250cc could do the same. My friends say that riding a modern four strokes makes you lazy comparing the riding technique needed to make a two stroke go fast. One must be really fast and efficient in the gear shifting department.

I have rode a few bikes (Honda 85cc, Yamaha 85cc, and a KTM 125sx) And I absolutely love my KTM to a -T- the bike a great power and is the ONLY Bike Manufacturer to put a hydraulic clutch on there bikes. The bike has great top end and pulls like a BULL. Even though its a 2002 I still love it. I want the new KTM 150sx, I recommend this bike to anyone.

Why did KTM not go with Direct Injection as with 2 stroke outboard motors and a number of other makers? (Evinrude E-Tec type system - No fuel in the crank case at all)

This makes the 2 stroke the same or lighter on fuel than a 4 stroke - With no loss in power or torque!

Here are 2 interesting vids based on this

A direct challenge 2T vs. 4T with outboard motors

A nice clear explanation of Direct Injection.
