Maico Still on the Hunt for U.S.A. distributor
With the new look Maico about to break cover along with the timely news that a former factory rider has returned to the fold to do some test and development riding, the distribution arm of the factory are now actively seeking a distributor to take the brand stateside after recent talks with a company failed to progress further than the discussion stage.
A Press spokesman for the company told us” Over the last year or so we have been contacted by several companies who are keen to put Maico back on American soil but sadly no-one has been in the position to commit to a contract. We would ideally be looking for two or three established companies to handle distribution strategically structured over the geographical regions of America with a long-term view to raising the profile of the brand over a period of time. Each distributor would have an exclusive rights contract and be able to appoint dealers within their region. There are obviously several options with regards to distributor and dealer structures that we would be happy to consider and we haven’t ruled out the possibility of having one distributor for the whole country”.
The full story on the new look 09 bikes along with pictures will be featured on this site next week.
