What a great idea!

This has crossed my mind before that this would work as a way to build competitive race bikes at reasonable prices.

If you really think about it race bikes don't really change much from year to year. In fact sometimes it as though the manufacturers make changes just so they have a reason to sell a new bike.

There are people that are racing older bikes that are still competitive in local racing against the newest machines.

Some of my friends race two strokes that are 2000 models and one guy still races a 1989 KX250! He does it just because it's fun to beat people using such an old machine!

The guys like AJ over at Service Honda point out the direction that you are talking about.

There has to be enough demand for this type of model to work.

This should probably be covered with an in depth article.

It really simple:

Look at the race car industry! Take for example Micro sprinters. They buy a new frame(roller), and a used engine and put together a race car. Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, or Yamaha don't offer a micro sprinter in their lineups, yet they exist with their engines in them and lots of people are out racing them every weekend and winning and having a ball Ok, so no one makes a new aftermarket motorcycle frame roller(YET?) Service Honda and others are on the hunt and we should all go buy their products. If the big 4 see their sales drop they will stop making 4 strokes or just go by the wayside and cottage industries will step up to build the stuff our money will line their pockets with. On the other hand there are millions of used still in great shape two stroke motorcycles out there that will smoke a new 4 stroke! the 4 stroke is against the wall. Unless they allow turbos and superchargers the 4 stoke has come as far as it will on power basis without total redesigning it!

So back to my story. We need someone to step up and build new in the box motorcycle MX frames that retrofit most any modern 2 stroke engines.

Can ya here me knock'in? I'm com'in in, and I have money to buy the product your about to design and sell... it's all in the consumers hands just band together and push for what you want. It's already happening on racetracks everywhere.
