It is not about which can be ridden the quickest, it should be about which is the most fun to ride. For me the CR 500 is the most fun to enjoy than it is on the 450 which has no powerband at all, thus the 4 stroke is a boring bike to ride.

in my opinion…it was a completely unfair shootout…a ten year old bike to a brand new off the showroom floor crf450? how bout a cr500af vs crf450?

but i guess that shows you that a ten year old 2 stroke can hang with a new 4 stroke…

Hey JustEnduro, I agree that the test would be much more useful comparing a 2009 Service Honda and a Maico 500 vs a 2009 CRF450. That would be fricking awesome!

My suggestion is to write an e-mail to MXA requesting just that.

Would like to see this comp done on a Service Honda CR500 vs CRF450R.
Much more of a honest shoot out!!!!!!!
Can’t compare a old YZF to new YZF (Same for the old CRF450R vs 2009 CRF450R)
Suspension, Brakes and Weight of a very old bike vs new.

PLEASE REDO THIS ARTICLE / COMP WITH A 2009 SERVICE 500 or Maico 500 vs 2009 CRF!!!!
